Maybe I should not have joined this group,we have a Jayco hybrid(19ft.)
but we do not wish for a newer or larger unit as we down sized. This RV.has every thing the larger unit had but the room that we missed
at first. It is much easily stored and we don't have as much trouble finding a camp sight, and I don't want to forget fuel consumption and up keep.We need a group for people with small RVs,now I find
that some people with larger units look down there nose at you.
I hope I never gave that impression.

Good Morning Terry...Gurney & Dorothy

Hope all is well with all of you on this Sunday morning.

I think your idea of a Group for people with small RV's is a great idea. While we wouldn't want to leave the big guys out, I'm sure there are a lot of things to discuss that would be most helpful and interesting to us but of no interest to some who have the larger units.

I also think a group for single RVers would be good too, again...not to be exclusive....but think there are a lot of experiences and information to be shared that could be very helpful to us.

I've traveled in a 35 foot unit which I only drove once (forward on mostly on a highway) and backed up and parked once.....while I didn't have any problems, that was enough for me. The space was nice, and if I were a twosome or more that wanted to RV full time, could leave most of the driving to some one else and have help setting up and tearing down at a camp sight I wouldn't mind having a bigger one (not that big)....but I'm more inclined to want to take the easy way out :^) so a class B is what I am looking at....Class B plus at the most. I want to spend more time playing and having fun and less time maintaining an RV.

Wishing all of you a wonderful day

Greetings fellow campers!

I don't think big riggers look down at us little guys. I think in some ways they are quite envious. I love parking next to the "big rigs" in my diminutive Aliner. I enjoyed watching the show the last time I was in Cherokee, NC. A pair of huge 5er's parked a couple of spaces over from us. The parking spaces were so tight for their giant rigs that it took them about 20 minutes each just to back it into their space. I can completely set-up my Aliner, awning and screen-room in less time than that! I joked with my DW that we probably burned less fuel towing over the mountains than they did just backing into their spaces.

When my DW welcomed our new neighbors, I overheard their conversation. Our neighbor asked what kind of mileage we got with our little Chevy Cobalt SS. "About 24 mpg towing our camper over the mountains." my DW proudly answered. "We only plan on spending about $800 for our entire 2wk, 2,000 mile vacation. We have all the amenities of a big rig, you know: a/c, shower, toilet, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, king-sized bed - just in a little smaller space - but we're outside most of the time, so having extra space doesn't really matter." she proudly added. I couldn't have said it better myself. My DW gets it! And from the wide-eyed look of our neighbor's face, I think she did too. I hope the "Big Riggers" are as happy with their choice as we are with ours. :)
