My DW and I are planning on visiting Big Bend again (for the 3rd time) during the last week in April this year. The last time I went there was by motorcycle in the late 70's. This time I will be going by car, pulling a little Aliner pop-up camper. I'm sure it has changed a lot in the last 20 years.

We plan on staying at the Chiso Basin CG for 3 nights and then going up to Guadalupe Mountains NP with a side trip to Carlsbad Caverns.

I was wondering if anyone here has been to either of these parks lately? What changes might I expect?

The last time I went was in August. It was pretty hot, but cooled off fast after the sun went down. I'm sure the weather at the end of April will be much more pleasant.

I am a New Bee and we had our first camping advancers in our RV last weekend we stayed at Jellystone in Canyon Lake, TX the people there were very nice the facility was EXTREAMLY Clean in my opinion compared to one of the others that we stopped at first. Don't know if any of you guys have kids but this place was very family oriented I liked it and look forward to go to the other locations: http://www.campjellystone.com/

Michael & Amber Brown Comment by Michael & Amber Brown on April 19, 2011 at 1:39pm
We really enjoy camping at Coushatte RV Ranch in Bellville, TX.  A great secluded campground with nice facilities. Reasonable rates and great staff.  We also enjoy the Lake Mediana RV Park at Lakehills, Tx. just NW of San Antonio, however the Lake is really down due to the drought here in Texas.
