Wal-Mart Camping And Other Free Places

Do you know about Wal-Mart camping? WalMart not only authorized RVs and vans to park overnight, but encourages it. 'Free camping,', and we failed to wait long to use this new data.

We were heading back to Michigan in our conversion wagon, and free camping sounded good to us. We parked, plugged in our 5-inch T.V, and settled in for the night. Nobody bothered us.

The following night we had free campeing again, this time at a 'Flying J' truckstop. There were RVs camping there too.

National Forest and BLM lands offer free camping too. In each circumstance you are limited to a stay of 2 weeks in one place, though this rule isn't always implemented, and the next two-week place may have to be only 100 yards away.

There is free camping scattered around the country. Ask an RVer about this, or get a Woodall's index from any huge RV dealer.

Remember, be respectful. Don't roll out the carpet and put out lawn furniture like one traveler we heard about, or you may ruin it for all. Some stay for a week at a time, going out all day to see the sights ( and so they do not wear out their welcome ).

Go to the Wal-Mart website and scroll down to the'store finder' link to search. Thank you for camping at Wal-Mart!
