Getting Revved up for a great year of camping

Well, I was surfing around and found some great recipes that I am going to use camping and thought I would share them here. Our first camping trip will be to Aloha State Park (in Michigan) over Memorial Day weekend. I am looking forward to it. We will be taking along and extra kid (5 teenagers) and our new puppy. Should be fun!

Here are the yummy recipes:

First Camping Trip of the Year

We just returned from our first trip of the year and it was great. We went to a state campground near Cheyboygon MI call Aloha State Park. We were able to get a site on the channel that leads out to Mullet Lake. The weather was beautiful. We had a pair of Baltimore Orioles that were living in the trees on our site so we had beautiful music all weekend. It was wonderful.

I have a hard time planning meals for when we are camping so I thought I would share our meals and then in other blog… Continue

It's almost here....

Our camping season is about to begin. I am so excited! We took our camper to the dealer to have a few minor things taken care of. Should have it back soon. We hope to camp over Mother's Day weekend. It is my daughter's birthday Saturday and mine on Sunday so we thought a camping trip would be a great birthday gift for both of us. We will be heading over to the Cadillac area where we can celebrate my oldest sons girlfriends birthday, too. Should be fun. I am looking forward to it, that's for… Continue

I used to be but I sell Close To My Heart - my daughter is signed up with SU so I just get my stuff from her. I love scrapping and teaching classes at my house. Do you scrap alot - do you scrap on the road while you're traveling??? How does that work out for you if you do??

The only thing I would suggest is to put the money out to get a very good, user friendly, map friendly GPS. The initial outlay is a little bit but then that's the only cost for equipment for a very fun hobby that you can persue anywhere!!

Hi Christine,

That is my show car. It is a 1976 CHEVY VEGA. I took out the 87 horse power 4 cylinder engine and shoehorned in a 300 horse power Chevy 350 cu inch V-8. I have won a lot of awards and it sure is fun to drive. Thanks for asking.

Yes I did thanks for the info. I would be interested in knowing if you use portable tanks for your gray water?

Yes I enjoy it when I get the chance to but I haven't done it in a while since my lady stopped doing workshops. My daughter turned 15 yesterday and I'm still working on her baby book. I just got let go of my job in Feb. of 30 yrs. so when I get the house cleaned from all the junk I can hopefully start working on my books. As to me taking them with me no I haven't because we are usually busy at the beach or I just wanted to sit and relax since we only took the one vacation. But now I guess things will change since I'm not working. It was nice to hear from you.

I think the 2 main things I like about Good Sam is the monthly magazine and the discounts at many campgrounds. I also get a discount on my RV's insurance through them as well.
