Hello,
Not new to RVing but been 30 years since we owned travel trailers. We now have a 27 foot Palomino Puma 5er and have only used it one time last fall. Intend to travel this spring and summer to Hot Springs, San Antonio and maybe Phoenix. Just looking for friends to share with.

Hi Gurney, well, I was at Bragg once in the 70s with a NG unit for a training exercise against 82nd Arbn, and believe it or not we won. 82nd underestimated us I guess, Ha. Caught um by surprise and whupped up on them pretty good. Not bragging tho. Pure luck.
We spent most of our active duty at Chaffee Ark. (basic), Benning, 18 mo., Gordon, 8 mo, Knox, 2 mo. , Sill, 8 mo., Richardson AK, 2 yrs, ,deployed during Berlin Crisis to 7th Army, Kaiserslautern Germany, 8mo.
Middle daughter was born while I was aboard ship coming home, so I decided I was having hard time supporting wife and first daughter and needed to interrupt my career status and go to the Guard as the family came first. Just wasn't making enough to support the family in those days.
Came home, joined a local NG unit, served 24 more years, retired as a Crypto Officer CW3 with 30 years total. I loved the Army, but just wasn't in the cards to make a career for life which I guess is the reason I joined the Guard.
As they say, "Once a soldier, always a soldier". Can't get it out of your blood. Even now as I am retired from everything, I still run a blog called veteranstillserving.com. LOL.
Anyway didn't mean to bore you with 30 years of our life, but you will find I am a big talker, love to fellowship with friends. ;-)
Oldest daughter, born at Ft Gordon Ga while we were stationed there, has had 2 liver transplants, one in Feb 2008, and the 2nd Jul. 18th 2008, which we are waiting for her to get self supporting and then we will turn loose this summer. So far she is doing very well, but need to stay close by for another month or so just in case.
Well hello Gurney & Dorothy. I figured I sign up here so that we can make more friends. Where do you guys camp the most? We will be attending the State Samboree in April out in Marion. Military tribute weekend. Hope we can meet in the future.
I would be happy to have you add me as your friend, and will do the same. I'm looking forward to swapping RV stories....albeit, mine will have a few years on them until I get my new RV and get back on the road again.
My grandkids and I did take a nice day in our "make do" for the time being wagon yesterday. I drive a 96 Buick right now...so I can fit them all in. :^) We went to Berne, Indiana as the oldest grandchild had yet to experience the Amish people and had heard the younger ones talk about it often. It was a great day. We visited with four families and their home based business including a dry goods store which I love. The trip also included an accumulation of 3" of blowing snow storm, but no matter...we had a great time all the same.
