Anything else about yourself that you want to share?
Over the years my wife and I have owned four full size motor homes and have traveled most of the
lower 48 states. However due to my wife's health problems we are no longer able to take long trips.
We now have a medical transport van with a wheelchair lift that I have converted to an RV.
RVers are a breed of their own.
Most who have tried Rving either like it or not. Fortunately it is the one thing
my wife and I could agree on. The big difference when traveling, I was always
looking for the next breath taking view of the this wonderful country of
ours, she, however was always looking for that next shopping center or novelty
shop. When we graduated form tent camping to Rving it was in a couple of
used service vans I bought from Sears and converted to Rvs with a bed and
porta-pottie. Our first motor home was a used ‘73 Champion. The guy I bought
it from told me he and his buddies were drinking and playing cards in it one night and he hid a hundred dollars in it some where and he was so drunk he
could never find it. I took that story and dismissed it as an “if you say so story”.
A few months after I bought the motor home I was looking for a place that I could
tie into the 110 electric system to wire in an outlet for a TV when I found a white
cloth bag behind the furnace with something heavy in it. To my surprise it contained not a $100 but a 100 oz bar of 99% pure silver.
My wife’s father came to live with us when he was 80 years old. He had lived
his entire life with in a fifty mile radius of where he was born. The old fellow enjoyed traveling with us so very much and he got the opportunity to see more
of this country than he ever dreamed possible. There was one problem, he loved
to ride shotgun in the co-captain’s seat and so did my wife. I would always have
one up front grinning and one in back frowning and complaining. I replaced the
co-captain’s seat with a small two passenger bus seat and every one was happy.
