Hey Cheryl did you see the blog tiitled "ok so the forth day of the trip etc)??? As yes we made it as that blog says....
We arrived at our camp site just below the Pikes Peak Tuesday evening...Wednesday was just an awesome time...in the morning we drove up Pikes Peak, 14,000 feet of winding roads and switchbacks that would floor the weak hearted, please see the new pics...the views were just stunning, belive me there is no air up there...everyone was suffering from the lack of it...except Rose of course....she breathes on excitement...I'm gonna go looking for fish gills tonight.....anyway what an exciting morning...we picnicked near a dam at the bottom and after the very slow decent we did the "Garden of the Gods" thing, which although not quite as breathtaking as Pikes...was truelly great...again I have posted some pics..arriving back at base camp..(the coach) we were just too shattered to blog so here we are today (Thursday 8pm Mountain time) sat in the TV room of the Rocky Mountain RV park we arrived at a few hours ago..after what I can only explain as a heart rendering drive (this time in the coach with tow vehicle) (a 60 ft train if I ever saw one) across roads where no man or vehicle would dare to go...that is untill the Rocky's met Rose...hmmmm wow...high enough to have Snow on um yes thats the white stuff you see in some of the pics, we (um well I did anyway) drove with the stuff on the side of the road...a trip that was 200 miles long but took for ever because of the switchbacks and high altitude progression at maybe 10 miles an hour nah 5, with drops of what I just don't want to disscuss on the one side of the road (yes we were litrally driving up the edge of mountains) and oh what next you might ask well how about this what goes up has to go down.....we started at 6,000 climbed 4,000 and then yes you have it dropped 3,000 slow meandering nerve shattering feet, oh good fun hu!!! he he Actually we are both having the time of our lives, the views are stunning just stunning and, we can not wait to get out of bed tomorrow to start another adventure at the Rocky Mountain State park....we're fine...honestly just fine
