Right....well here we are in ZION!!!! Yes we made it....the last day in Bryce we did the Fairy tale loop, a mind blowing, strenuous trail, the reason being to see the famous Tower Bridge Arch, which actually really did look like the Tower Bridge over the Thames in London uk...this trail was an 8 mile loop...however the last 3 miles we had a lightning storm and I can tell you being on a trail that takes you over narrow high edge paths, slippery sand covered boulders and steep inclines and decents is no place to be when the skies open....anyway like a couple of drowning rats we made it back to the truck....
The drive over to Zion was awesome...especially the last 10 miles or so...to get to our RV park in Zion we had to drive through part of the park...in fact whether you are going to the park or trying to get to the other side you pay...$25.00 a time..(we had the paid pass though) there is however two tunnels to navigate to get to Zion..and at the toll booth as pre considered had to un hook the tow vehicle as the vehicle lengh limit was 50 feet...not only that but because the main tunnel being over a mile long with very sharp bends and only 13 ft high we had to pay to have a park Ranger stop the traffic at the other side so we could drive the coach through in the centre....such fun....well after the tunnel (I did take a pic in the tunnel but it did not come out) where a wonderful bunch of sharp switch backs to the bottom of the canyon...
On getting here we were slightly upset due to the fact we had booked this park because it offered WiFi and oh well it had apparently failed a couple of months ago...and the owner is still sat in some bar not worried about it I guess...anyway...I must admit this Zion is not what I was expecting but wow what a place...even here at the camp site we are surrounded by sheer 3.000 ft cliffs that are the Zion Canyon...we are about half a mile from this areas entry to the park..which is a free shuttle ride from out side the RV park that takes you to the Zion Canyon National Park Visiters center....from there you can take a free shuttle to any of the trail heads, lodges or picnic ares...of which there is many right up to the end of the Canyon....there is however from there a riverside hike of one mile and, for the adventurist you are able to walk up the boulder shrewn river, this part of the Park is called "the narrows" yes you have it...this is where the canyon narrows and the 3.000 foot cliffs are only 30 ft apart, the river is at times very fast and about thigh deep but could rise considerably at any time due to rain further up so this trail is done at your own risk...we walked it with the help of advised rented walking sticks for about 3 and a half miles up stream...what fun truely what fun...there was supposed to be a Waterfall something like 130 ft high drop but where told on the way up it was not with running water....so that was our limit...
Yeterday Sunday we did the Emerald pool trail...there being 3/4 loops to do these 3 pools because they have made different loops for the public to make up their own mind on thier limits...yes your right we did the most strenuous...(I'm finding it's better to get Rose tired earlier so I can get back to my Grand turismo game)(he he) this however was yet another really fantastic trail...a 3 mile strenuous hike with so much to do and see on route...
Adding to this I guess most of you heard about the Arch called "The Wall Arch" at Arches callapsing just a few days ago ok so guess I was one of the last to stand underneath the thing......that was close hu? Must of been there just a couple of weeks ago...Rose took a pic of me too.....I actually uploaded this to my RvBUG page pics a week or so ago...it's the large wiggly looking Arch with of course me sat underneath on a pile of rocks...

Even though I have a month off a year, the rules are at my job is you can only take one week off at a time! Dam! how I wish they would change that. Oh well ... When retirement comes we're out of here for a trip hopfuly like the great one your in the middle of right now.
