Comment by Audrey and Ed Greenwell on September 24, 2009 at 10:50am: Hi John.... we did just that!! In 1998, we sold everything we owned and bought a motorhome. A 36 ft Winnebago Chieftain. We hit the road for five years after my retirement from Hallmark Cards, Inc. in KC, MO. Ed retired from the insurance business as well.

We spent five glorious years traveling around this beautiful country, some of Canada and six weeks in Alaska. Family duties called us away for a time, but we've had the gypsy spirit in our souls ever since. This year, we bought a used rig and will be 'On The Road Again' after another five years of wishing!

We learned a lot in the five years we 'full timed", so have applied that knowledge to what we are going to do now. Smaller is definitely better, especially if one is to travel in crowded areas. We could talk about many instances where our rig was too tall to go under a bridge, or too large to fit into a camp ground. Not any more!! Well be able to go where we want and do what we want without a lot of muss, fuss and trouble!!
