Welcome Carol. I am brand new here too. We have a fith wheel and we just love it. It has 2 bedrooms. One for us and one for the kids. If I had to tow it we would never go anywhere, heck the thought of driving the F-250 is scary enough. =)

Hi Carol, One of my dogs is blind so he is not bad to travel with. I just put a car harness on him and seat belt him in the seat.My other dog I put in a crate so she doesn't jump all over in the truck. She can get under your feet if you know what I mean. They both love to travel an go camping. I stop about every 1-2 hrs and walk them if they are awake. They hear the door on the camper at home and they go nuts thinking we are getting ready to go. They like to walk at all the campgrounds and explore. Alot of places let you bring your animals so it's not to hard to find places to stay. You must never leave your animals in the trailer alone. Most campgrounds prohibit this practice. We take them with us to out door things for now and walk or hike with them. Believe it or not that blind dalmation will go exploring for hours. He's a brave little dog. Welcome to the blog and hope you have a great season this year. Dan

Thanks Dan I didn't think it was a good Idea to leave pets in camper.
I saw someone do it the one time I went camping and just thought I was being to fussy about it.
I will hopefully get to us ethe camper with my dogs this summer or fall.
Have a great year

I am new to the site also. We are retired, live in FL, travel mostly to PA in the summers to see family with all kinds of stops in between. We have a Class-A and are in it about 5 to 6 months out of the year. 4 months in the summer and the rest to rallies in FL in the winter time. We belong to 2 FMCA chapters and tomorrow we will be going to the SEA rally in Brooksville (north of Tampa.) There will be over 2000 motor homes there. Great time!

Hi - Don't woory - we are all newbies at one time or another. Even the experts were a newbie once. I had a 5th wheel trailer (yes - you tow them with a truck). But we sold it and now have a 2004 Class C. Also known as a mini motorhome as it has a 'van' front end, not built on a bus chassis. We love getting out. Still work in a Jay Oh Bee. But have been starting a home based business and planning for that to replace the j.o.b. Anyways there are lots of great RV community web sites like this place that really help you ask for advice when you are new. So when you have challenges remember your probably not the pioneer, and there are people so dep in the RV life they can point you to someone somewhere that can help with just about anything.

Own a class A, but every time you go out in it you're newbies again. Go to a new place, a new state, whatever. It's a newbie experience all over again. Just went to bike week in Daytona. Was a great experience. Camped about 70 miles from Daytona and took the back roads into the city. Was great riding, but camping was great also. Had a backin site but was large, could have put my house on it and still had room. Lot's of great people at the RV park. Had something going on every nite. 1st of June taking a six month road trip to visit the states.
