Sooo Thats it....2 days drive and we are at Carlsbad Caverns, today is Tuesday (I think) we arrived Saturday to brilliant sun and overwhelming heat...folowing morning the sun had dissapeared. That day we did the Carlsbad Caverns...they are mostly 800 feet below ground, the walk down was steep, we chose the walk in rather than the elevator but had to take it up...the caverns are really huge with a central point with a cafeteria and of course "t" shirt stall....of the 3 caverns we walked through o… Continue

Alright!!! 2nd day here at the South rim....nothing out of the ordinary happened on the drive here...we did stop at a Canyon overview with Indian Souvenears stands, the check in time being 4pm at this camp ground slowed us down a bit...Thursday (yesterday) we just walked around to gain bearings and did some of the rim trail stopping every now and then to simply take in some awesome views of the Canyon below....Today 8/29/08 we hiked down the canyon to Ceder ridge...about a 3 mile round trip..tak… Continue

Ok so here we are at The Grand Canyon, the North side..idea is to have 7 nights here then 5 nights at Lake Powell (yes!!!! Jet sking fun again)(yipeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!) then about 7 nights at the South Grand Canyon...firstly I guess need to blog the last day in Zion...there were trails everywhere and 3 in the very Strenuous bracket...one being called "Angels Landing" which is the hike we chose as the climax for Zion...booked as a hard climb of 1,500 ft from the bottom of the canyon to the very top… Continue

Right....well here we are in ZION!!!! Yes we made it....the last day in Bryce we did the Fairy tale loop, a mind blowing, strenuous trail, the reason being to see the famous Tower Bridge Arch, which actually really did look like the Tower Bridge over the Thames in London uk...this trail was an 8 mile loop...however the last 3 miles we had a lightning storm and I can tell you being on a trail that takes you over narrow high edge paths, slippery sand covered boulders and steep inclines and decents… Continue

Hi Rose & Noel, Rainbow River was great,we went their last July or August can't remember but it was Hot.The spring water will defiantly cool you down. The camp grounds looked as if their are improvements going on at the time. From what a friend told me you where able to camp closer to the river at one time.As far as where we stayed there was little to no shade, no big deal though as the cool water will cool you down in a heart beat.My only problem was that I thought you could get to the spring head from the camp ground, these are two different parks and you have drive a few miles to get there. But overall me and my family had a great time their and are looking forward to going back soon.Memorial weekend we head to Lake Griffin as the last time we where there it rain the hole time.We hope for better weather this time.Hope you have a good time and safe trip.

Lake Louisa has 18 trails you could hike or bike on, and 11 you could ride on! That is acourse assuming you brought your horse with you. They range anywhere from .3miles to 2.4miles. Just staying on the paved road will give you a good view of the park, and a good workout also. you see this is one of those rare places of florida, theirs changing terrain levels!

Hope that answers your question. If you think of any more just give me a holler, I be more than happy to answer.

catch you later
